Delete your DataScout account
You can permanently delete your DataScout account and all of the data associated with it at any time, using either of the methods below.
Delete from your device
- Open the DataScout app and sign in.
- Go to Profile / Settings.
- Choose Delete Account and confirm.
This is the fastest method and removes your account immediately once confirmed.
Request deletion by email
Send a deletion request from the email address registered to your account. We verify the request before deleting so that no one else can delete your account.

What gets deleted
When your deletion request is processed, we permanently remove:
- Your account credentials (email, username, hashed password) and active sessions;
- Your photos and videos stored in our cloud storage;
- Your cameras, camera groups, animals, notes, media metadata, and weather records.
Timing and retention
Account and content are deleted or irreversibly anonymized within 30 days of a verified request. We may retain a limited amount of information where required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or prevent abuse, as described in our Privacy Policy.
